el shaddai - loosely translated, (very loosely) my suffeciency
i've realized how difficult it is for me to grasp that concept. i quickly run to anyone but my lord. i run to gabriel, i run to elisa, i run behind the wall i've built around myself. the last place it seems that i run to is the one place i should be going. i think that i need an instant answer, an instant voice, to tell me what i 'need' to hear. but i don't run to the arms of my healer, my comforter, my protector, my shepherd, my almighty, my sufficiency.... i run to man, who is fallible, i run to my own private refuge, shutting out the world...shutting out his voice.
someone said recently, that they felt that they were in a separation from the lord similar to a marital separation. still loving him, still wanting to be with him, but just apart from him at the moment. i felt that she was looking into my soul. verbalizing the very thought that was burning in my mind.
restoration seems difficult. how do i understand that he alone is my el shaddai. my sufficiency, my powerful sustainer, my portion.....how can i really grasp that?
i've known him for 8 years now... intimately... yet i still can't understand that.

i'm getting cable tonight. and watching charlie brown christmas.
so. the cd i'm currently listening to... i'm not the one listening to it. the guy round the corner is. loud enough for both of us to hear it. nice of him. there's a song on there that i find hilarious. usually its britney spears that he plays for us all. he's changing it up a bit.

lately i put things up here... then i give it a second thought and remove it. never really sure of what i'm thinking or what i want to say.

one night i had a dream... when i retold it to my dear friend nikki tiki tavi, she told me that it was othello. i haven't read othello in years. and i haven't watched O in years either.
